Luimnigh Bound

Finally!!

My grades came in!!!! I got three B1’s (aka B+) and an A1!!!!! Hooray!!! I passed everything :) All I had to do was pass, and I was aiming for B’s, and I did it! Victory dances are in order

In other news, I really miss my housemates. And Ireland. Heck, I’m even ready for the new school year to start so I can see all my other friends! It’s going to be such a great year.

Goodness

I never wrote that I got home safely! I did, obviously…

The trip home was one of those movie-style “things that can go wrong” days though. I kept having small problem after small problem, and my morning did NOT go smoothly AT ALL. In fact, I wasn’t even sure that I would make it to the airport! It was a harrowing journey full of mishaps and women drivers and all sorts of tomfoolery. I was not pleased. However, it’s extremely nice to be home (and back in the land of hot weather. Or rather, hot weather when I feel like venturing outside, and central air when I don’t!), although at the same time I feel very much…adrift. Right now I’m sort of settling back in, although the job prospects for the summer are extremely grim. I highly doubt I’ll find anything, because I got back too late and everything has pretty much all been taken. Dang it. However, it’s not all bad, because this means I have plenty of time to make my trip scrapbook! I’m super excited to start on it, although I’m a little terrified of having to go through the bajillion photos I took and narrowing them down to a feasible number to print at CVS. I’ll post the rest of my catch-up posts soon!

well, this is it

The final few minutes before my taxi gets here. Goodbye Ireland! I have some incredible memories, and I will miss you so much!

South Carolina, here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The time is drawing far too close

In 12 hours I’ll be on my plane. Getting ready for takeoff. TO LEAVE.

Don’t wanna go :(

However, I had an epic cleaning spree while singing as loud as I could to my ipod. It was extremely delightful.

Right now I’m listening to the “Nightmare Revisited” collection, aka the covers of the original Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack. It’s so awesome. I’ve also been watching British comedy all evening. Also awesome.

These have all been distractions to keep my mind off the impending day of departure :(

So I’m the last one…

And frankly it’s pretty dang creepy. Most people have already left campus, and it is so incredibly quiet! I can’t believe it. I’m almost packed, but I unfortunately have to buy a new suitcase tomorrow in order to fit everything…to be fair, I only brought a carry on and one checked suitcase, so I’m not too worried about it…some of my friends had to take home three huge bags! So tomorrow will be my final trip into town to pick up the suitcase as well as take random photos around campus…I hope the weather is semi-nice!

Ugh time. Why do you do this to me.

In other news, I really am excited to go home. I have loved it so very much here, but I do miss home. I know that I’m going to miss Ireland a ton, and I’ll just have to absolutely come back some day soon!!

:(

So Erin, Katie, and Melanie left this morning. :( Meagan and I are the only ones left now, and she leaves either this afternoon or tomorrow morning, so I’ll be the last one here. It’s so strange! The entire top floor set is gone, and its so very very quiet here. I don’t like it. Today I’m going to pack, and then tomorrow I’m going to do a photo tour around campus and say goodbye to all my favorite places. Everything feels so surreal right now, and it’s extremely hard for me to imagine that in just two days I’ll be back in the States. I’ve gotten so used to travelling and then returning here to Ireland as home base, and I’m really going to miss the freedom of just buying a plane ticket for so cheap and just going anywhere I want.

On the other hand, I’m EXTRAORDINARILY glad to see my family and my friends from back home again. I miss them all so much, and I can’t wait to see everyone and tell stories and hear stories and start our final school year together!

Final Sha-Bang

We had our “one last party” day yesterday and it was so much fun! First we dressed up and went into town to take pictures by the castle, then we came back and changed into jeans and took random pictures around campus, then we ordered random food, and we ended the night with a trip to Stables and the Icon! It was an absolute blast, and an amazing way to spend one final group night together. My friend Brittany left early this morning, and just about everyone else is leaving tomorrow (Meagan might leave Thursday, she’s not sure yet), so I’m basically going to have the house all to myself on Thursday, which is going to be so incredibly bizarre. I need to start packing! I love packing though, because I love turning on music really loud while I accomplish tasks. I’m really not looking forward to cleaning though…

As soon as Mel posts pictures I’ll put up some of our excellent group shots!

And when I get back to the states I’ll FINALLY get caught up on the trips that I’ve been procrastinating writing about for forever…

Oh yeah…

I should probably mention, the one essay I wrote? Before Spring Break? That took me a week to write? Yeah, I got an A+ on it…no big deal or anything…

Actually, it was a huge deal, and I’m pretty sure I rocked the final too, so that was very exciting! The Music final was okay, I knew one of the questions really well, but I didn’t really know any of the others so I kind of had to bs my second essay question…oops!

I hate that I have to wait until June to figure out my grades though. Bah!

Oh whoops so I did write about the essay earlier…oh well, I’m going to brag about it again!

Well the sunny weather couldn’t last…

But really Ireland? You couldn’t have made an exception today?

I went to Galway!!! It was really nice, but unfortunately it was misty/rainy the whole day! I bought souvenirs and went to the river and saw some neat statues and spent a very lovely day walking around with Melanie.

It’s weird because people are starting to leave…our housemate Fleur left yesterday, and two of the guys that we hung out with, Sam and Evan, also left this weekend. It’s so strange, because we’ll never be in this exact same situation again, you know?

I’m really excited for tomorrow, because we’re having a Final Day type thing, where we go around campus and take pictures together and then have one last “family dinner” and then go out one last time! A lot of people leave Wednesday, and it’s really hard to imagine being in the house for two more days without them (I leave Friday). I kind of had an inkling of it this weekend since Erin and Katie weren’t here and Meagan was hanging out with her friend Nial, but still. It’s a strange thing to try and fathom.

While I’m excited to be going home, at the same time I really don’t want to go. I love it here, and I guess I’m not quite ready for the adventure to be over yet. There are so many things that I didn’t have time (or, let’s be honest, the money) to do! Ah well. Such is life, I suppose!

Update type thing

Well the good news is that I’m done with all my finals. The great news is that I think I did really well on my last final. The absolutely excellent news is that I got an A+ on my Folklore essay. Hells yeah! It was a very delightful feeling, let me tell you!

The bad news is that I won’t know my final grades until June 20th at the earliest. The really bad news? Tomorrow is the “one week left” mark…

However, its a gorgeous day outside and I really enjoyed walking to the grocery store. Delightful sunny weather is always always welcome!
